Volunteers are the backbone of our STC chapter. Review the list of positions below and let us know how you would like to get involved.

Events Manager

Term: 1 program year (September to May)

Monthly commitment: 6-8 hours, including monthly Council meeting

Duties: Manage the Programs committee to identify topics and speakers of interest for 4 to 5 RMC events per year, and find suitable venues for hosting them. Create the Eventbrite registration page for RMC monthly events. Might conduct an annual membership survey.

Benefits: Meet leaders in our profession and explore new trends and information in our field first-hand. Enhance your organizational and communications skills.

Nominations Manager

Term: 1 program year (most activity occurs between January and May)

Monthly commitment: 2-4 hours

Duties: Identify and invite candidates to run for office, announce the slate of candidates, and administer the chapter election using a survey application to design the ballot, promote the election, and report the results.

Benefits: Get to know your fellow RMC members more in-depth and refine your communication and organizational skills.

Membership & Volunteering Manager

Term: 1 program year (September to May)

Monthly commitment: 2-4 hours, including monthly Council meeting

Duties: Download the monthly list of current RMC members from STC International and email welcome information about the chapter and available resources to new arrivals. Requires basic knowledge of Excel. Network with people at chapter events and discover their interests, then connect them (if appropriate) with a mentor for one of our open volunteer roles

Benefits: Hone your communication skills, meet and connect in a meaninful way to people in the community, and expand your network. Vital member of the RMC council.

Website Team

Monthly commitment: 1-3 hours

Duties: Regularly update the STC RMC website with information provided by Executive Council members. Review the website periodically to make recommendations to the council on changes or improvements. Working knowledge of CMS and HTML required..
