Web, Lies, and Videotape

by Laurence Hoess

Steve Lee, executive interactivity consultant with Allen Interactions, will share his views about Internet-based training, including current usage, areas for improvement, and real and pseudo opportunities. Allen Interactions has pioneered developing interactive multimedia technologies.

Steve will demonstrate and discuss effective and ineffective designs and implementations of web technologies as he shares his knowledge and experience in interactive, interface, and motivational design. He will discuss why most of the excuses for poor training interactions are based on lies, confused perceptions, misunderstandings, and the wrong models.

When will the Internet become ubiquitous? Why are companies failing to profit from the Worldwide Web? How can you make your Web site a success? What lies do corporations espouse and why? If it’s all hyperbole, why are companies investing so heavily in the Internet? To discover the answers to these and other questions, don't miss the November chapter meeting.

As vice president of sales and marketing, Steve directs the marketing and sales efforts for Allen Interactions (http://www.alleni.com). Steve is a leading authority in implementing the successive approximation approach and is an expert in all aspects of multimedia development including CBT, full-scale simulations, expert systems, online reference tools, job aids, kiosks, and interactive presentations. He is also considered a leading expert in the use of Authorware and is a premiere instructor for interactive multimedia authoring and instructional design. Steve has performed consulting services and taught high-level concept and tool courses for more than 100 major corporations during the past seven years.
