People have always had the need for better, faster communication.
Yesterday's technology moved us from "snail mail"
and "sneakernets" to email, instant messaging, and
websites.
But now we want more. We want collaboration. Our users want
more. They want to be able to edit our documentation. Our
teams want more. They want to share content.
Today we use VoIP when we need to talk to someone. Today
we use blogs to share our "voice" with others, many
of whom we don't even know. Today we use wikis to create collaborative
documentation with teams spread around the world. Today we
learn from the experts through podcasts. Today we have meetings
in places that exist only on a server somewhere in the world.
Virtual existence is replacing face-to-face reality.
Kit Brown and virtual co-presenter Char James-Tanny bring
you the information you need today about collaborating with
wikis, blogs, podcasts, and more.
Note: This meeting also serves as our annual chapter
business meeting - please note the earlier starting time of
6:15 p.m. New STC RMC officers will be inducted and chapter
accomplishments and financial positions will be presented,
so don't miss this important meeting.
