Preference will be given to candidates with teaching interests in public relations and/or publication management and design. The successful candidate will develop or continue a relevant social-science-based research program. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated research interests in health, environmental, public safety, and/or risk communication. The candidate will have a 2/2 teaching load and will contribute to the department’s graduate and undergraduate programs through teaching and advising students. Potential for excellence in teaching is required, as is professional communication experience. Professional communication experience should complement one or more of the department’s teaching areas: public relations, magazine, news/editorial, technical/scientific communication, television news and video production, and computer-mediated communication. Previous college teaching experience preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching interests in public relations and/or publication management and design, and to candidates with demonstrated research interests in health, environmental, public safety, and/or risk communication. The potential for extramural funding is also a plus. Ph.D. in communication, journalism/mass communication, or related field, with a focus on public communication and social influence processes, required by August 15, 2006.
