Elizabeth (Bette) Frick Elected Fellow
Elizabeth (Bette) Frick has been a technical communicator for 22 years since earning her PhD in English at the University of Minnesota. She continues to study language as she teaches technical writing and edits medical documents. Bette brings professionalism and energy to the classroom, as well as 42 years of front-line experience as a writer, editor, teacher, and speaker. To enhance her skills, Bette recently earned the highest Toastmaster award, the Distinguished Toastmaster. In 2010, Bette was board-certified as an editor by the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences and also earned an Essential Skills certificate from the American Medical Writers Association.
Bette’s citation reads: For outstanding achievement as a dedicated teacher and mentor of technical communicators through style guides, best practices, and public service presentations; for innovative training methods using a variety of media; and for distinguished service to the Society.
