The George E. Hoerter Scholarship Awards

The Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication grants two undergraduate or graduate scholarships in recognition of George E. Hoerter's contribution to our chapter and his service to STC. 

The scholarships are available to undergraduate students with at least a sophomore standing, and to all graduate students. Applicants should show promise of contributing to the technical communication field after they graduate.

Each award is $1000. The funds may be used for:

  • Tuition and fees
  • Books and class materials
  • STC regional and annual conferences
  • Technical communication seminars

Applications must include:

  • Application form. (Please print out form and send in.)
  • Resume.
  • A one- to three-page letter including a statement of academic and career goals.
  • An official transcript.
  • Two letters of recommendation from faculty members in the field of technical communication. (NOTE: The recommendation letters may be sent under separate cover.)

Applications are due to the RMC by December 15, 2006, and awards will be announced around January 15, 2007.
